Eva Ward
I am in my final year of Environmental Geoscience BSc at the University of Glasgow. Throughout my degree, I have gained experience in field techniques and understanding physical earth processes. I participated in the 2025 University of Glasgow Iceland expedition and carried out a project investigating mass movement hazards in Seyðisfjörður. During my third year, I volunteered in the BECS labs, where I was introduced to techniques involving GC-MS and analysing environmental samples.
I am currently completing a research internship funded by TSN ROKS, where I am preparing kelp samples and analysing them on GC-MS, GC-FID, and GC-IRMS to investigate organic biomarkers. I am eager to transfer my geological and field-based knowledge into the laboratory and understand how these concepts interact.
